Do Hand-Poke Tattoos Last as Long as Machine Tattoos?

Short answer: yes, hand-poke tattoos can last just as long as machine tattoos when done properly. You can check out my healed tattoos here!

Longevity depends on a few key factors:

  • Technique: Professional hand-poke application matters

  • Ink quality: High-quality tattoo ink lasts longer

  • Placement: High-friction areas (hands, fingers) fade faster

  • Aftercare: Sun protection + moisturising = long-lasting tattoos

Hand-poke tattoos may age slightly differently - sometimes with a softer, more organic look - but they don’t automatically fade faster. With good aftercare, your tattoo can stay crisp and cute for years.

Touch-ups are also easy and common, especially for fine-line or micro tattoos.
